Management Concepts is Hiring a Project Manager Near Tysons Corner, VA

This position will report directly to the Director of Program. You will be focused on implementing standard project management processes, procedures and tools to meet the cost, schedule, and performance objectives for assigned client projects. You will lead client-facing programs with industry and government. External programs will be focused on training management, curriculum development, and/or other human capital efforts. You will be expected to contribute significantly to proposal efforts and may be requested to provide classroom instruction. This position is located at the Management Concepts Headquarters in Tysons Corner, VA. Some travel to customer sites may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple, concurrent projects on time and within budget.
  • Establishes deadlines and manages risks.
  • Provide program and project management subject matter expertise and leadership.
  • Provide performance and process improvement and monitoring expertise and leadership.
  • Communicates contract requirements and risks with program and operational stakeholders.
  • Lead training, curriculum and human capital programs throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Apply appropriate contract management principles for engagements under your oversight.
  • Coordinates work among the project team to build efficient teams.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts.
  • Provide oral and written communication to senior leadership through reporting and presentations.

  • Possesses basic knowledge of government procurement policies and procedures that are relevant to company business transactions.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to appropriately delegate business tasks.
  • Ability to mentor staff within division and across the firm.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Productive utilization - PMs will provide direct support to client projects as well as internal projects to deliver content / product solutions and should reach 80% utilization across internal and external projects.
  • Client satisfaction – Projects in the PMs portfolio will be evaluated using an independent client evaluation process.
  • Project performance- The PM will continually monitor projects to ensure they are meeting schedule and budget and stay within project scope.
  • Project gross margin – The PM will monitor the project financials to ensure the project is maintaining the anticipated gross margins determined at the beginning of the project.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business or Quantitative discipline preferred)
  • 5 Years of Experience managing projects in the Federal Government market is required.
  • Previous experience with consulting or other professional services firm
  • PMP preferred
  • Have direct experience either working as or managing an ISD
  • Understand and have applied the ADDIE method
  • Experience working in a learning or human capital environment preferred.
